After starting his career in the retail sector and then the insurance industry, Kent decided to explore his creative side by going to work as an assistant to a floral designer in Dallas Texas in 1996. After 10 years, he and Rusty decided to go into business together combining each of their first names to become Robert-Lawrence Designs. Since then, they have gone on to win several awards from the interior design community for their excellence in floral design.

Rusty began his career in floral design by working in a flower shop while in college. After graduation, he moved to Wichita Falls where he ran his family's flower shop for 10 years before making the move to Dallas in 1997. At that time, he worked for a staging company until finally returning to floral design in 1999. There, he and Kent worked together for a number of years until they decided to form Robert-Lawrence Designs in 2006. His creative vison continues to propel the company forward in the minds of the interior design industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Thomas has a background in the contemporary art market and began the RLD Art program in 2018 bringing engaging artists to the showroom with the goal of providing a platform to showcase fresh talent. Since 2017, he has lead the online sales and marketing division of RLD as well as organizing the events held at the showroom. He is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
